Wertvolles und sehr bekanntes Ziergras, fügt sich sehr gefällig in Pflanzungen ein. Früher wurde dies wirklich attraktive, kompakte Federborstengras einzeln und in Widerholungen im Vordergrund der Rabatten eingesetzt. Mittlerweile hat sich aus den USA ein Trend zu Massenpflanzungen durchgesetzt. Auf der IGA 2013 in Hamburg war ein ganzer Hügel nur mit Pennisetum 'Hameln' bepflanzt. Das war sehr attraktiv und lädt zum Nachmachen ein. Nur hat leider nicht jeder einen eigenen Hügel im Garten.


Wuchshöhe: 60 cm

Blüte: August - Oktober, rotbraun, walzenförmige Ähren, sehr reichblühend

Laub: dunkelgrüne schmale Blätter, kompakt wachsend

Standort: sonniger bis halbschattiger Platz, durchlässiger Gartenboden, keine Staunässe, besonders im Winter

Topfgröße: 9 cm
